SPECTRE's Emilio Largo plots and executes a plan to steal NATO nuclear warheads and hold the world to ransom, under threat of nuclear holocaust.
Following a brief spell at a health-farm where he coincidentally and unwittingly observes some of the early stages of Largo's plan, James Bond heads to the Bahamas where he meets Domino Derval, friend and CIA colleague Felix Leiter, and eventually Largo himself.  Bond finds himself hovering above a French Chateau and exploring the depths of the ocean as he endeavours to prevent SPECTRE's plan reaching fruition.
