James Bond recovers a silicon chip from the dead body of a colleague in Siberia.  The chip is identical to a secret British design impervious to the electro-magnetic pulse of a nuclear blast. Bond goes undercover to investigate horse-breeder and industrialist Max Zorin, and discovers sinister links with the KGB. 

However that's only the tip of the iceberg when 007 and geologist Stacey Sutton discover Zorin's plan which involves stockpiling the world's microchips before flooding Silicon Valley.
