James Bond's mission in Austria is swiftly concluded when he is recalled to investigate the inexplicable disappearance of US and Russian submarines. As it becomes apparent that a shared enemy is responsible, Bond joins forces with beautiful Russian secret agent Anya Amasaova. The trail leads to Karl Stromberg, a powerful shipping magnate who plans to instigate nuclear war and create his own society beneath the sea. 007 and Amasova, travel from Egypt to Corsica, and eventually to the bottom of the ocean in their quest to defeat Stromberg and his deadly assassin Jaws.
